We live in the richest nation in the world (well, I assume you live in the US where I live but I guess I could be totally wrong about that!). We’re willing to spend $5 for a latte at Starbucks, some of us caffeine addicts (like me!) do this daily. For that small amount of money we can save a child in some of the poorest nations in the world. I’m not trying to pull at your heart strings by showing sad images of starving children. My goal is to simply provide information that shows how a little can go a long way, and just how easy it is to donate a few bucks here and there.
This blog is a way to communicate programs that can use our help, that we can donate to online painlessly, and that are worthwhile. Thank you for taking the time to listen. What cause will you donate to?
Skip a Lunch is an idea I had after reading an article in the National Geographic on the spread of malaria. It turned out for a mere $10 you could buy a family in Africa a mosquito net through the American Red Cross. I spend $10 every time I frequent a Starbucks, so why shouldn't I skip one lunch or cinnamon dolce latte and help save a child? I did. Will you?
